Bruno Fernandes has been lucky enough to play with some fantastic players during his career.
This current Manchester United team isn’t great, but, over the years, Fernandes has played with some brilliant players at United.
Casemiro and Raphael Varane are serial winners at the highest level, Paul Pogba was the most expensive footballer in the world at one point, while Amad Diallo looks a top prospect too.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Bruno Fernandes has now named who is actually the best player he’s ever played with, and, unsurprisingly, the midfielder named his fellow countryman, Cristiano Ronaldo, as his greatest ever teammate.
The best player Bruno Fernandes has played with
Fernandes named Ronaldo as his best ever teammate.
Of course, Fernandes and Ronaldo have played together for Portugal for years, but the pair also spent time together at Manchester United.
Ronaldo re-signed for United in 2021 for £12m, and Fernandes got the chance to play with the legendary striker at club level for 18 months before his acrimonious departure from Old Trafford.
“Who is the best player you have played with?” Fernandes was asked.
“Cristiano,” Fernandes said.
Bruno Fernandes’ record alongside Cristiano Ronaldo
Fernandes and Ronaldo are undoubtedly two of the most talented Portuguese players of their generations.
With Fernandes being an elite creator, and Ronaldo being an elite goalscorer, as you can imagine, these two have a stellar record together.
Bruno Fernandes’ record alongside Cristiano Ronaldo | |
Games | 112 |
Wins | 69 |
Draws | 18 |
Losses | 25 |
Bruno Fernandes assists to Cristiano Ronaldo | 6 |
Cristiano Ronaldo goals | 77 |
Ronaldo is a goal machine, and his record when playing alongside Fernandes is as brilliant as you would expect it to be.
Interestingly, Fernandes has only assisted Ronaldo six times in his career, which isn’t a great return considering how creative the midfielder is and how lethal the forward is.
Ronaldo is one of the best players ever, and it’s no surprise to hear that Fernandes has named him as his most talented teammate of all-time.
Fernandes and Ronaldo have never won a trophy together, but, who knows? Perhaps CR7 will have one final chance to put that right if he makes it to the 2026 World Cup.
