Bayern Munich was handed a loss in Europe and so has Borussia Dortmund. Now, both teams will try to regain some of their confidence in this fixture. Bayern has more at stake because Bayer Leverkusen is still right behind them and the Bavarians want to be as far as possible from Xabi Alonso’s team. Dortmund meanwhile is aiming to get back into the European places from where they are five points off the pace.

Bayern maintain their position at the top of the league with 68 points (21-5-2) while Dortmund sits at eighth with 41 points (12-5-11).

It’s Bayern time.

While you’re here, consider listening to our preview show. Listen to it below or on Spotify.

Vincent Kompany will have to work around the numerous injuries on the squad, but Niko Kovač is dealing with some things at BVB as well. We will dive deep into that and more during the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show. Here is what we have on tap:

  • A look at where each team sits in the Bundesliga table and a review of how they performed in the Champions League (Hint: Not good).
  • A look at the injury and suspension situations for both teams.
  • A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI, which is a tough ask given all of the injuries.
  • A prediction on the match.

  2. Use the on-screen “Refresh comments” button to periodically load new comments.
  3. Keep the sorting to “newest” to easily follow the conversation. It puts the newest comments at the top.
  4. Here at BFW we celebrate every goal like they do in the stadium: with a chant. The goal chants are for everyone to participate in! Even if you’re lagging behind the others, keep replying to the most recent call of the player’s name. Even if you missed the first call, just start from the second, and so on.
  5. While swearing is allowed within reason, please be polite to your fellow posters and avoid gratuitous obscenities. Racist, homophobic, and misogynistic language is not allowed whatsoever.

Check out our beginners thread if you have any more questions. That’s about it. Auf geht’s!
