TBR Football understands that a host of Premier League clubs have spent much of the last week in Morocco, checking on Africa’s top young talents.
TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Crystal Palace are all in North Africa for the two-week long tournament, which began at the end of March.
They are not alone as the likes of Real Sociedad, Bayer Leverkusen, Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, Monaco, Lille, the Red Bull organisation and the Saudi Pro League, including Al-Ahli were all also in attendance.
TBR Football can now reveal some of the names who are attracting the main attention, especially from the perspective of the Premier League clubs present.
Mohamed Sako and Asharaf Loukman Tapsoba
Two of the most talked about players – who are being watched closely are from Burkina Faso in the shape of Mohamed Sako and Asharaf Loukman Tapsoba, Sources have told Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football.
16-year-old midfielder Sako, likened to Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, is currently playing in his homeland with Basga Jo Academy and is seen as one of the most in-demand talents.
There is also his young teammate Tapsoba – who is one of the youngest players on show, having only turned 15 in March, but some are already likening him to George Weah and Victor Osimhen.
Tapsoba has certainly caught the eye as he is currently top scorer in the tournament with seven goals.
Indeed, Burkina Faso have made it to the semi-finals and most of their squad is attracting some huge attention.
Monaco beat competition to one of Africa’s top talents
Another goal-scorer impressing is Ivory Coast’s Alynho Haidara, he plays in the style of Didier Drogba and has six goals to his name.
Indeed, Ivory Coast are seen as a team with huge potential and their midfield duo of Adama Sone and Seydou Dembele are two others attracting some major interest.
Haidara is currently playing for an academy linked with Mainz – who TBR Football has been told are already taking calls about him.
Another stand-out has been Morocco’s Ilies Belmokhar – helping them to the last-four. However, French giants Monaco have already snapped him up and look to have landed one of Africa’s top talents.
