Liverpool fans tell Arne Slot to simply never play one player again despite 2-1 win vs West Ham

4 Min Read

As Liverpool won 2-1 against West Ham United on Sunday, they are now six points away from winning the Premier League title.

Luis Diaz initially opened the scoring after a stunning assist from Mohamed Salah in the first half as the Reds seemed on course for a routine victory. But West Ham gained ascendancy during the second half, their efforts were rewarded as Andy Robertson eventually scored an own goal.

Virgil van Dijk was initially set to clear the ball but there seemed to be a miscommunication between the pair as the Scot was at fault for the Hammers’ equaliser.

While Van Dijk eventually saved Andy Robertson’s blushes, Liverpool fans still made it a point to stress that it is high-time he never plays for the club again despite their win against West Ham.

Liverpool fans say Andy Robertson should never play for Reds again after West Ham win

One Liverpool fan commented on Robertson’s woes as the Reds beat West Ham by simply writing: “Never want to see Robertson play for this club ever again.”

Another Liverpool fan agreed, saying Robertson is well past his sell-by date after his side’s victory against West Ham: “Been saying it. He’s a legend but he’s clearly not the same anymore.”

A third Liverpool fan claimed Robertson cannot play for the Merseyside-based club again as he continues to cost them, as he nearly did against West Ham: “Robertson can never ever ever ever ever play for this club again.”

Another Reds supporter added: “Fabinho levels of drop off…unfortunately, churning out God awful performances time and time again. Surely needs to be let go in the summer.”

A fifth Liverpool fan questioned Arne Slot’s decision to bring Robertson on against West Ham: “Why would you willingly sub on Robertson? We’ve been playing with 10 men for half an hour. He is no longer a Premier League-level footballer. Sell him as soon as the window opens.”

A sixth fan also stated: “Robertson has to be shipped out ASAP. This man has had a disastrous season. He’s done at this level.”

It’s safe to say that Robertson is no longer a popular man amongst Liverpool fans and his mistake against West Ham would not have done much to improve his declining reputation amongst the Anfield faithful.

Liverpool ready to reach agreement to sign Andy Robertson replacement

The 31-year-old no longer seems to be the elite left-back he was once as his age seems to have caught up with him.

But Reds fans will be happy to know that Liverpool are confident about signing Milos Kerkez in the summer, who will replace Robertson in the side as he looked well past it once again against West Ham.

Liverpool rate Kerkez very highly behind the scenes and the AFC Bournemouth defender has all the makings of being the perfect heir to the former Hull City star’s throne.

But Robertson is a Liverpool legend and whether Kerkez can ever replicate the standards he set in his prime will be interesting to see.
