Liverpool may have just secured the future of one winger in Mohamed Salah, but is already making possible moves for another.
Kingsley Coman is a name that has cropped up in previous Liverpool transfer rumors and it resurfaced on Saturday. As per German outlet Bild, the Frenchman is a target for the Reds despite his questionable injury record.
“Liverpool are actually interested in him,” said Bild journalist Christain Falk. “He’s on the shortlist. It’s not to the point where there are negotiations or offers yet, but they’re monitoring his situation, especially after he’s Bayern’s number one sales candidate. Not because they don’t appreciate him, but because they can see him bringing in money.
“Yes, of course that’s one of the considerations,” he added on Coman’s injury record. “But of course, with his high speed, he would fit in really well. He comes in on the left, but he can actually play all of them. So that would be interesting for the team.”
Coman has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern under Vincent Kompany and has not started any of the last seven Bundesliga matches, although that sequence is partly impacted by injury and a lack of match fitness. The reports come just days after Arsenal was linked with a move for the attacker, while Saudi Arabia has also been mentioned as a possible destination for the 28-year-old.
Elsewhere, Virgil van Dijk ’s contract extension is expected to be confirmed in the next few days and, despite FSG’s reputation for failing to offer top-tier salaries, the captain’s new terms will see him well remunerated.
“Virgil van Dijk will put pen to paper on a two-year deal in the coming days and will almost certainly be the best-paid centre back in the world,” claimed a report in the Times.

The ex-Southampton defender admitted last week after the defeat at Fulham that progress has been made on talks with the club and, despite nothing yet being confirmed, his expected extension has been tied up in the news surrounding Salah this week.
There’s every chance Van Dijk provides a further update on Sunday after the game against West Ham United at Anfield.
