Manchester United are reportedly determined to win the race for Ajax teenager Abdellah Ouazane.

The 16-year-old was born in the Netherlands, but he is representing Morocco at youth level, currently turning out for the latter at Under-17 level, scoring twice in seven appearances.

According to the Daily Mail, Ouazane was watched by Man United at the Under-17s Africa Cup of Nations Championships in Morocco last week, and he is viewed as one of the best young talents in world football.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions are considering a move at the end of the season, but there is unlikely to be a shortage of interest, with a number of other clubs also believed to be in the running for his signature.

Ouazane has been compared to Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham due to his style of play, and he has drawn huge praise from Morocco Under-17s manager Nabil Baha.

“He’s a player we count on a lot. He can make the difference. He was born in 2009, people forget that. He’s a year younger than the others. But he plays at Ajax, and he’s full of talent. These days, 100% isn’t enough. Everyone gives 100%. What we need is 120%. And he’s capable of that.”

Man United have changed their transfer policy since the arrival of INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a minority shareholder, with the club now targeting young players with potential rather than established stars.

Casemiro is an example of the signing that the Red Devils will no longer be making, with the 20-time English champions instead looking to build a team for the future which will one day be capable of returning to the top of the European game.

Ouazane certainly fits the brief, as he is relatively unknown in terms of the wider game, but he possesses incredible talent, boasting strong physical attributes, in addition to being able to score and provide assists due to his quality on the ball.

Man United’s new policy is working, with Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven recently arriving from Arsenal, and both have already made an impression at first-team level for the club.

Obi has featured on four occasions for the Red Devils this season, while Heaven has also played four times, with the 18-year-old starring on his last outing against Leicester City, although his match was cut short due to an injury which is still keeping him out.

Man United are also set to bring in 17-year-old Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno during this summer’s transfer window, while Bendito Mantato, Jack Moorhouse, Harry Amass, Sekou Kone and Amir Ibragimov are also among the excellent youngsters currently at Old Trafford.
