After 32 games played, Tottenham Hotspur are now 15th in the Premier League having lost 17 games this season.
Ange Postecoglou has overseen one of the worst domestic seasons in Tottenham’s modern history, a league campaign which can’t end soon enough.
On the touchline and in his press conferences, Postecoglou now cuts a forlorn figure – he often looks like a man who is resigned to losing his job.
Postecoglou’s Spurs team have been ravaged by injuries this season but even with his key players back, things haven’t improved.

Mathys Tel was seriously unhappy after losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, and the error-strewn performance arguably felt like a new low, a display lacking confidence and quality.
And whilst Spurs do have a chance to lift the mood in the Europa League on Thursday, all indicators would currently point towards more heartache.
Gary Lineker thinks Ange Postecoglou is hindering Tottenham players
That being said, Gary Lineker discussed Postecoglou’s predicament at length on ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast following Spurs’ 4-2 defeat to Wolves.
And the pundit made an interesting point about Postecoglou’s body language and how it’s not necessarily helping his Tottenham players.
Lineker said: “Yeah, I’ve obviously stuck up for the football because I enjoy watching Spurs play, but it’s almost like it’s got a bit too much for him.
“The way things have gone, obviously it’s not easy dealing with defeat after defeat or struggling performances.

“But I think, and I echo your sentiments in terms of the press conferences, sometimes saying things like the footballing gods are against us.
“Even if you do get a bit of bad luck and constantly the world’s against us whining a little bit. I think it’s probably his first time. He’s really had an awful patch as a coach, as a manager everywhere else he’s been.
“But obviously the Premier League, it’s a sterner test than he’s had before. I think that’s fair to say. But there is still a possibility that he could end up winning a trophy and qualify for the Champions League.
“But I think it’s a long shot now because they do seem to be… and you know what it’s like Micah when you’re in a side that’s struggling and results are not going, you’re bereft of confidence and you need a little bit of something.
“But his body language at present almost suggests that he’s downbeat and I think that’s not what you need.
“As a player, you need your manager to lift you up when things are not going that well. And it’s a shame.
“It’s tough for Tottenham, but hopefully they can do something in Europe. And I’m sure he had his one eye on that this week because that will possibly be his salvation this season.”
Daniel Levy already eyeing Ange Postecoglou replacements
With respect to Postecoglou, it’s hard not to wonder who might already be being eyed to replace the Tottenham manager.
Tottenham like Thomas Frank at Brentford and Daniel Levy seems to have admiration for more than one opposing Premier League manager.
It would seem as if Spurs want Andoni Iraola from Bournemouth first and foremost if Postecoglou is sacked at the end of the season – a situation that perhaps still depends on the club’s travails in the Europa League.
An extremely difficult situation for the club, but it is currently hard to see things turning around in the Premier League under Postecoglou at least.
There’s no doubt that Postecoglou is a good manager – he didn’t succeed at Celtic by chance, but it’s becoming increasingly hard to see how his philosophy will succeed in N17 long-term.
