Marcus Rashford is hoping his improved form at Aston Villa will attract interest from top European clubs, talkSPORT understands.
Rashford has scored three goals and claimed five assists since joining Villa on loan from Manchester United in January.
Villa have the option to pay £40m to make the loan permanent, but Rashford’s dream move when he decided to leave United was Barcelona.
talkSPORT also understands Rashford would prefer a switch to the Camp Nou in the summer.
Paris Saint-Germain, whom Rashford impressed against in Villa’s Champions League exit on Tuesday, are also long-term admirers of the England international.
Sources close to United say the prospect of Rashford being welcomed back while Ruben Amorim is manager is slim.
Rashford is likely to have to take a pay cut on his £350,000-a-week wages to join Villa full-time.
The 27-year-old has shown glimpses of his immense talent since he joined Villa in January and has started nine games, four of which came in Champions League ties against Club Brugge and PSG.
Rashford has also registered three goals and six assists, with all goals coming in an FA Cup quarter-final win over Preston North End and a Premier League victory over Brighton.
He turned in arguably his best display for Villa on Tuesday night against PSG as he assisted Ezri Konsa’s goal that left the English club one goal away from levelling the tie.
Rashford came agonisingly close to getting on the scoresheet as well, but a stunning fingertip save from PSG gloveman Gianluigi Donnarumma denied his curling effort.
Speaking after the match, Villa boss Unai Emery was pleased with how Rashford performed against the Parisians but was reluctant to confirm or deny whether the club would complete a permanent swoop in the summer.
“It is difficult to plan now,” Emery told Amazon Prime.
“He’s feeling comfortable and better. He played a fantastic match.
“If he’s happy, we are happy.
“Then, of course, it depends on the circumstances and what happens in the next weeks, and (what we have) in the next year as well.”
Prior to Rashford’s move to Villa Park, he failed to appear in any of United’s final 12 matches.
Of those fixtures, he made the bench just once but remained an unused substitute for the loss to Newcastle in December.
Rashford and Villa now switch their focus back to the Premier League as they host Newcastle on Saturday in a crunch clash given just two points separate the clubs in the race for the top five.
The 27-year-old will also look to steer the club to an FA Cup final appearance a decade on from their last when they face Crystal Palace in the semi-final on April 26.
