Kawhi Leonard was caught cheesing at a San Diego Padres game with his kid, and fans can’t get enough of seeing the Clippers star happy.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been dealing with immense expectations for years, and the primary reason for that has been Kawhi Leonard being on the team.
The Clippers were locked in a desperate battle for a guaranteed playoff spot this season, and Kawhi’s averages of 25.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 20 games since February 28th made quite the difference for them.
The team clinched the 5th seed and will face the Denver Nuggets in the first round, and analysts like Jeff Teague expect them to beat LeBron and Luka. Having worked hard to get into a good position for the playoffs, no fan would begrudge Kawhi some well-earned time off.

Fans loved Kawhi Leonard’s expressive exchange with Fernando Tatis Jr.
The San Diego Padres played their final game of a 3-game regular season series against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, winning 4-2, and the Klaw was in attendance.
A cameraman walked up to Leonard as Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. was walking up to him to say hello to Kawhi and his son. And the usually reserved Leonard was positively beaming during the exchange.
“He probably smile all the time, he just don’t like a lot of u,” one fan wrote on X. Another added, “Dude has a son and a chip… Does it get much better in life?”
A third fan simply wrote, “Made my day.” Another commenter captured the moment perfectly, writing, “Being with a son at the ball game is priceless.”
Fan surprise was best encapsulated in this take, with a fan writing, “Saw the picture before reading the tweet and it legit took me a minute to figure out who it was lol. Not used to seeing him smile.”
Suffice to say, seeing Kawhi Leonard out having fun with his son has led to a significant amount of chatter on social media, and most of it is quite wholesome indeed.
Kawhi Leonard is a San Diego legend
Although he is not from the city, Leonard attended college at San Diego State, where he had quite an impact.
Leonard averaged 15.7 points and 10.4 rebounds as a sophomore, winning SD State their second consecutive conference tournament championship.
The team made it to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA tournament, but ultimately fell short.
Kawhi Leonard became the first men’s basketball player to have his jersey retired by San Diego State in 2020. His status as a legend is stamped and certified.
