Over the last decade, building out from the back has gone from a fresh idea to an untouchable philosophy. Coaches have built whole teams around this idea and fans are told this is how modern football is supposed to look. But more and more, this belief is being tested. Every week, we see goals conceded in the most avoidable ways, All in the name of having a clear tactical identity and following the managers philosophy at all costs.
But does the amount of goals it leads to really justify the risks?
