A result this afternoon at Tannadice Park would see Celtic secure their 55th league crown. They clashed heads with in-form Dundee United, but the Tangerines could not delay the celebrations as the Hoops secured an emphatic 5-0 victory en route to drawing level with Rangers on league titles.

Below are the Celtic players rated in their win against Dundee United.

Viljami Sinisalo: 7.5

Looked sharp between the sticks with crucial saves, punches and claims. Back-to-back clean sheets for the Finnish custodian in their successive 5-0 triumphs.

Alistair Johnston: 8

Kept on making marauding runs and whipped in crosses and set-pieces down the right. Set it up for Adam Idah, who headed home from his cross moments after the half-time break.

Cameron Carter-Vickers: 8

Maintained his composure in the defensive third with his passing accuracy and ball-playing attributes. Made several interceptions and dominated the aerial duels against Sam Dalby.

Liam Scales: 7.5

Clumsy with his tackles, but the Irishman was superior while engaging in aerial and ground duels. Was in the right place at the right time, also impressed with his passing game alongside Carter-Vickers.

Greg Taylor: 7.5

Balanced his game between defence and attack with timely recoveries and overlapping runs. Created a few chances high up the pitch while linking up with Daizen Maeda down the left-hand flank.

Callum McGregor: 8

Orchestrated the tempo with his prowess and technicality despite losing possession on a couple of occasions in the middle of the park. Set it up for Idah’s second of the afternoon around the hour mark.

Arne Engels: 7.5

Created an array of chances while featuring as a ‘number 8’. Played his part in the build-up of Nicolas Kuhn’s goal that doubled their lead. Made way for Paulo Bernardo just over the hour mark.

Reo Hatate: 7

His flair, finesse and swift movements helped the Hoops dominate the midfield battle. Controlled the half-spaces before being taken off for Luke McCowan midway through the second half.

Nicolas Kuhn: 9

Marked his return to the starting XI with a first-half brace. Showed his positioning and poaching traits to find the net from Maeda’s pass twice in less than ten minutes. Made way for James Forrest in the second half.

Jota: 7.5

Forced Ryan Strain to score an own goal as the Portuguese wideman was waiting to pounce on it. Limped off the pitch with a knee injury minutes later. Idah was brought in around the half-hour mark.

Daizen Maeda: 8.5

Started as a ‘number 9’ but shifted down the left after Idah’s arrival. He failed to make it to the scoresheet but laid it on for Kuhn twice at the backend of the first half. Had a few goal-scoring opportunities, however, he either missed the target or was denied by Jack Walton in the United goal.

Celtic Subs vs Dundee United

Adam Idah: 9

Celtic’s ‘super sub’ netted two goals within the first quarter of the second half. Narrowly missed out on a hat-trick opportunity midway through the second half.

Paulo Bernardo: 6.5

Was calm and composed in the centre of the pitch with his passing and pressing game.

James Forrest: 6.5

A decent cameo from the veteran Scotsman, with the game and title both sealed when he replaced Kuhn down the wide.

Luke McCowan: 6.5

Made some box-to-box runs to operate in the advanced areas.

Jeffrey Schlupp: 6.5

A good few minutes for the veteran left-back who could be tied down permanently beyond his loan stint.
