Things are not done…yet.

Just a few short days ago, a report from Bild stated that Bayern Munich had reached an agreement with Leroy Aziz Sané on a new contract. The 29-year-old’s contract is running out in 2025, but the new terms were apparently going to keep the Germany international at the club until 2028. But, lo and behold, not every rumors is true. Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 30 victory against FSV Mainz in the Bundesliga, Max Eberl, Bayern’s board member for sport, refuted the report and claims that an agreement had been struck with Sané:

“What you read is not true,” Eberl said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “We haven’t reached an agreement and haven’t signed a contract yet. But it’s no secret that we’re in talks. We’ll see what happens.”

If something happens, it will have to be soon. The former Schalke 04 player only has around two months left on his contract, at the time of writing.
