Mohamed Salah posted the selfie he took with supporters after scoring against Tottenham.
Liverpool beat Tottenham 5-1 in front of an adoring crowd at Anfield, securing the 2024-25 Premier League title in Arne Slot’ s first season at the helm. After the Reds found themselves down 1-0 after just 12 minutes of action, Liverpool rallied back to score three, though Salah would have to wait until the second half.
Squeezing a goal through Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, the Egyptian star quickly sprinted to the crowd and grabbed a phone. The phone appeared to be from a fan, but it was owned by a Liverpool photographer, which soon made its way to social media.
Shortly after the win, the shot made it to Salah’s X account, which shows the star holding up a peace sign in front of rows of adoring fans. What’s more, Salah continued to take selfies with fans after the final whistle, as he celebrated the Reds’ title win at home.
After the win, Salah spoke with NBC Sports regarding Liverpool clinching the title with four matches remaining and what it meant to him to see Anfield full of spectators celebrating the accomplishment after not being able to properly do so because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“I think in the first moment in my career probably for Liverpool,” he began. “I know I won the Champions League before, but wasn’t that special. Win the Premier League in Anfield and be able to do an impact like that, it’s incredible.”

He added: “I think when you play in Anfield, a few games like that, when you play semi-final or quarter-final, Champions League, it’s always the atmosphere similar to that. But I knew before the game that the atmosphere would be great, so I had to stay calm. I had to also be a good example for the young players … so I handled it well.”
With his goal against Tottenham and four matches to play, the 32-year-old made his own history, breaking a tie with Sergio Aguero for the fifth-most goals in Premier League history. Only Alan Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213), Wayne Rooney (208) and Andy Cole (187) have scored more than the Egyptian star.

Despite making history in the win, along with winning the Premier League title, Salah shared just how important it was for him to win, as it marked the club’s longevity. He said as much when he spoke with Sky Sports after the fact.
“This is way better, 100 percent. Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen, without Bobby [Firmino] and everybody,” he said. “It’s more special with the fans. You have a different group now, a different manager and it shows that you are able to do it again. That’s something special.”
