Real Madrid transfer news: PSG ‘plan £68m bid’ for Los Blancos midfielder who has underwhelmed this season

4 Min Read

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to make an €80m (£68m) offer for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

The 22-year-old will not play again for Los Blancos this season, while he is also expected to miss the Club World Cup, due to the abductor injury that he suffered in the La Liga clash with Getafe last week.

Camavinga will therefore end the 2024-25 campaign with two goals and two assists in 34 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti‘s side, and there has been criticism of his performances during the current season.

The France international signed a new contract at Bernabeu in November 2023, with his deal running until June 2029, but it is believed that Real Madrid would be willing to let him leave for the right price this summer.

According to Fichajes, PSG are planning a €80m (£68m) offer for Camavinga, and the expectation is that Real Madrid would seriously consider a bid of that size, as he is a player who could be available in the upcoming market.

PSG ‘planning £68m bid’ for Camavinga

The report claims that the French champions view Camavinga as a possible replacement for Fabian Ruiz, with the Spain international expected to be on the move during this summer’s transfer window.

Camavinga made the move to Real Madrid from Rennes in August 2021, and he has represented the reigning European and Spanish champions on 180 occasions in all competitions, scoring four goals and registering 10 assists in the process.

The midfielder may have played his final game for Los Blancos, although he would not be able to pass a medical until he is back to full fitness, which would complicate a switch during the upcoming market.

Who could Real Madrid sign to replace Camavinga?

Manchester United‘s Bruno Fernandes would be a dream midfield signing for Real Madrid, with the Portugal international once again showing his quality for a struggling Red Devils outfit during the 2024-25 campaign.

However, it would be incredibly difficult to convince Man United to sell, and Fernandes is seemingly determined to lead the Red Devils into what is shaping up to be a fascinating 2025-26 season, with head coach Ruben Amorim set to be backed in the summer market.

Real Sociedad‘s Martin Zubimendi is an option, but the Spain international is set to move to Arsenal, while his teammate Pablo Marin allegedly has admirers at Bernabeu.

Athletic Bilbao‘s Mikel Jauregizar is another interesting option for Real Madrid, while a swap deal involving Ruiz cannot be ruled out, as Real Madrid are thought to be keen on a player who previously played in La Liga for Real Betis.

Luka Modric is also expected to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of June, so there will almost certainly be a midfield addition for the club during the summer market.
