Departures in Bavaria are needed first, which could give Premier League clubs the upper hand.

Bayern Munich’s search for a new center-back with left-footed ball-playing ability could be landing on the ambipedal Bournemouth star, Dean Huijsen.

But the 20-year-old is a hot commodity on the transfer market, and Bayern cannot yet commit to a play for him — without shifting one of its own current center-backs. That’s according to a report from Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg:

FC Bayern have held partly concrete talks with Dean #Huijsen’s management in recent weeks. Max Eberl is fully informed about all the details.

As previously reported, Bayern are exploring the market for a new top centre-back. Jonathan #Tah has also been discussed again.

Huijsen is currently one of FC Bayern‘s top candidates – but only in the event of departures (e.g. Kim). That’s why Bayern cannot push ahead in negotiations at this stage. Other clubs are further along, with Liverpool and Chelsea, for example, showing more concrete interest. #LFC However, Huijsen can well imagine a move to Bayern. The race remains open. €58m release clause.

At €58M, Huijsen’s release clause should not be an obstacle for any of the deep-pocketed clubs interested. But Bayern’s inability to move just yet could be a problem, as Huijsen ultimately needs to be convinced by his next club first.
