Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Arne Slot all gave interviews after Liverpool clinched the Premier League title on Sunday, but Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t speak to the media at Anfield.
According to Peacock, who broadcast the game in the United States, they were informed that Alexander-Arnold would not be speaking to any media despite the historic occasion.
Alexander-Arnold was at the center of the postgame celebrations after Liverpool beat Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield, as the Reds celebrated winning the league in front of fans for the first time in 35 years. Liverpool’s Premier League success in 2019-20 was dampened by the global pandemic, as fans were unable to witness the occasion.
Liverpool fans are still hoping that Alexander-Arnold commits to the club, but it seems increasingly likely that he will leave and join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires at the end of this season, and unlike Salah and Van Dijk, who signed extensions, the defender is still yet to publicly disclose his future.
Assuming that Alexander-Arnold is set to leave, he still managed to enjoy another special day with his boyhood club. Curtis Jones pushed Alexander-Arnold in front of the Kop after the game, and the Liverpool faithful proudly sung his name.
Alexander-Arnold also posted a video from inside the Liverpool locker room, as the party started after the players left the field. Liverpool fans were dreaming of an announcement after clinching the Premier League, but with his future still a major talking point, Alexander-Arnold was kept away from the media.

Although it ended up being a comfortable win, Liverpool did concede first as former player Dominic Solanke opened the scoring after 13 minutes. However, Liverpool responded with five unanswered goals as Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, and Salah scored before Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie scored an own goal.
Failure to secure the one point needed wasn’t an option for Slot, who told Liverpool FC TV: “It feels great. I don’t think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp.
“The way we arrived on the bus, everyone was thinking there is no way we were going to lose this game. Conceding first made it difficult, but they always find a way to win.
“Incredibly proud, but not only of the players. Everyone knows what effort they’ve put in over the last few years. Everyone standing here, you [the fans] should give them a wonderful applause as well. Let’s forget that it’s the second [title] in 35 years, it’s the second in five years.”

Fresh off his contract extension, Van Dijk declared his love for Liverpool as he told Sky Sports: “This is the most beautiful club in the world. We deserve this. We are going to enjoy the next couple of weeks and take it in.
“I was desperate to win it for them [the fans] and all the fans around the world, and for us as well. We have won two Premier League trophies in five years.”
Salah also admitted that it was his greatest achievement since joining Liverpool in 2017, and managed to make more history on Sunday. Along with scoring the 200th left-footed goal of his career, Salah grabbed his 185th Premier League goal, putting him fifth in the all-time standings ahead of Sergio Aguero.
