Former Man City attacker ‘rejects approaches’ from Liverpool, Arsenal ahead of contract expiry

Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane has reportedly rejected the advances of Liverpool and Arsenal in order to remain in Germany.

The 29-year-old has not always been a first-choice option for head coach Vincent Kompany this term, although the winger has still managed to provide 14 goal contributions in the Bundesliga.

Whilst Bayern close in on domestic success, Liverpool are already basking in the glory of such a triumph after beating Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

A commanding victory over the midtable-dwelling Spurs secured a second-ever Premier League crown for Liverpool, arriving during Arne Slot‘s first campaign in charge.

The Reds are sitting pretty at the very summit of the top-flight standings, 15 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal with only four games remaining.

Bayern Munich man Sane ‘rejects’ Liverpool, Arsenal

According to Bayern Munich expert Christian Falk, German winger Sane has made a bold move amid interest from Slot’s Liverpool and Mikel Arteta‘s Arsenal.

The report claims that the 29-year-old has rejected switches to both Anfield and the Emirates Stadium ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season.

It is understood that Sane will put pen to paper on a new contract at the Allianz Arena, committing him to the club until the summer of 2028.

Turning 30 at the beginning of next year, the 69-time international has supposedly agreed to take a significant pay cut in order to remain at Bayern.

High-profile teammate Harry Kane and close friend Jamal Musiala have spoken out recently on their strong wishes for Sane to remain at the club past this campaign.

Sane’s trophy-laden career

With 17 major honours under his belt, Sane is understandably hot property in the transfer market as his current Bayern deal reaches its expiry.

The one-time Champions League winner boasts extensive experience in the Premier League, helping Manchester City to back-to-back domestic crowns in 2018 and 2019.

Liverpool will be less concerned about their Sane snub following news around Mohamed Salah, who has signed a fresh two-year deal at the Anfield club.
