The south Londoners thumped Aston Villa at Wembley on Saturday as a brilliant strike by Eberechi Eze and two clinical finishes from Ismaila Sarr secured a 3-0 win, putting Crystal Palace within touching distance of their first major trophy.

Manchester City booked their spot in the final with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, thanks to goals from Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol.

After a historic day at Wembley, Crystal Palace have some prize money heading the way of Selhurst Park.

After winning the FA Cup semi-final, Oliver Glasner, who Tottenham admire, has earned Crystal Palace a cash prize of £1m, with Aston Villa receiving £500,000 for finishing as semi-finalists.

Nottingham Forest have also made £500,000.

Crystal Palace will, however, bank at least £2m whatever happens against Manchester City, as the runners-up prize is also worth £1m, with £2m going to the winners.

You can see the total amount of prize money awarded throughout each round below.

Of course, Manchester City have also received a £1m prize, but that is less of a story given how financially powerful the Citizens are anyway.

Prize money could help to keep Jean-Philippe Mateta

TBR Football understand Crystal Palace are still trying to agree a new deal with Jean-Philippe Mateta due to his outstanding efforts under Glasner.

However, both parties are still struggling to find an agreement, with the Frenchman believed to feel he is now one of the best strikers in England, and wants to be paid more to reflect that status.

Crystal Palace are hardly skint after 12 consecutive years in the Premier League, but the £2m FA Cup prize money could well be put towards tying Mateta down to fresh terms in SE25.
