Arne Slot’s men will travel around the city on an open-top bus on Monday, May 26, the day after the final game of the season against Crystal Palace. Virgil van Dijk will lift the trophy on home soil the previous day, with the title parade coming on the late May bank holiday in Liverpool.

The parade will begin at Allerton Maze at 2.30pm UK time (9.30am ET) and will last for between three and five hours. It is scheduled to finish at Blundell Street. Going via Queens Drive towards the Fiveways roundabout and on to the Rocket flyover, it is the same route as the two previous trophy parades that have been held in recent years, in 2019 for the Champions League and 2022 for the cup double.

Those planning to line the route and congratulate the team on the day should expect the city to be extremely busy. In addition to the trophy parade and the Crystal Palace game, Sefton Park is also hosting Radio One’s Big Weekend, a major music event.

The Leader of Liverpool City Council, Councillor Liam Robinson, has to invite Liverpool to put on such an event. He has done that, and, as the process goes, the Reds have accepted the invitation.

“We’re delighted to officially invite Liverpool Football Club to parade around the city on May 26,” Councillor Robinson said. “A Liverpool victory parade is more than football — it’s a celebration of our city’s pride, passion and community spirit.

“A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes in preparation for an event of this size and scale. There has already been months of careful planning taking place as the Team Liverpool approach — which we saw work so well throughout Eurovision — comes to the fore again.

“It’s set to be an unforgettable Bank Holiday weekend as we give the team the celebration they deserve.”

“Very, very happy, of course,” Slot said when the title was won. “But to a certain extent also quite unreal because you work so hard for this moment to happen and when it then does happen, it needs some time for you to truly feel it. But the fans were so happy that it didn’t take us long, didn’t take me long to understand what we’ve achieved together this season.”
