Liverpool fans are shocked after seeing what Manchester City star Erling Haaland was doing as his side progressed to the FA Cup final.
After a dramatic 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions for the 2024/25 season, claiming their 20th English title.
At the same time, former rivals Manchester City booked their place in the FA Cup final following a dominant 2-0 win over high-flying Nottingham Forest at Wembley Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side were without star striker Haaland for the win, and both City are Liverpool fans were shocked to see what the Norwegian was up to during his side’s crucial match.
Haaland has spent the entirety of April off the pitch as he continues to recover from a knee injury picked up in the FA Cup quarter-final win at Bournemouth at the end of March.
Since then, the 24-year-old has documented how he has been spending his time on social media, showing off the impressive hours he is putting in on Minecraft while resting his knee.
But on Sunday, it appears he chose to watch Liverpool’s match against Spurs on his TV, while relegating his own team’s match to his laptop screen, confusing fans.
In a post on his Snapchat story, Haaland congratulated teammate Rico Lewis for taking an early lead in the FA Cup semi-final with a picture of his laptop showing the Englishman’s goal celebration.
However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that in the background of the image you can see a TV showing Liverpool’s match, with defender Andrew Robertson clearly visible in Haaland’s image.
Reacting to the post, one Liverpool fan wrote on X: “Hahahaha and they say no one cares. We’re absolutely massive!! Every player would love to play for Liverpool.”
While one simply wrote: “That’s just embarrassing.”

And another asked: “Well… He needs a new club soon, and he’s already settled in the area. If he wants to continue in the Premier League, who else?”
It remains uncertain when Haaland will return from his injury, but City fans will hope that he may be ready to return for the FA Cup final match against Crystal Palace or the Club World Cup this summer.
Speaking ahead of the Forest clash, Guardiola explained: “He feels better.
“I said before I don’t know when [he’ll return]. It’s not a comfortable injury… He’s getting better step by step. Still he doesn’t train with the team but we will see how he does.”
