How Wrexham could line up next season in the Championship with four Premier League players after transfer splurge

After securing promotion to the Championship, Wrexham will look to add more quality to their squad, and some Premier League players could be targeted.

On Saturday afternoon, Wrexham sealed promotion to the second tier of English football after beating Charlton 3-0.

It was a historic moment for the Red Dragons as they successfully secured three promotions in a row.

Backed by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham will now plan for life in the Championship.

They have already been linked with a series of superstar names, including Jamie Vardy and Kevin De Bruyne, who will both leave their respective clubs at the end of the season.

However, as reported by ESPN, the club will operate a ‘no superstars and no egos’ policy when they target new signings for their Premier League push next season.

Manager Phil Parkinson said: “We’ve always got our eye on players who are free transfers and are going to be available and will continue to do.”

As a result, we have looked through the free agent market and picked out four players from the current Premier League squads that Wrexham could look at.

Jamie Vardy

Having already been linked with a move to Wrexham, Vardy, 38, could be the marquee signing they need to propel them to the Premier League.

Ben Davies

The Welshman is out of contract at the end of the 24/25 season and could add much needed experience to the Wrexham squad as they look to navigate the Championship.

Adam Lallana

Champions League and Premier League winner Lallana endured a tough season with Southampton, but is surely more than good enough to do a job in the second tier.

Danny Ward

Born and played for Wrexham, Ward, 31, could make an emotional return and provide strong competition for current number one Arthur Okonkwo.
