Chelsea will clash heads with Djurgarden at the 3Arena on Thursday night as they look to secure a win in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League semifinal tie. The Blues secured a narrow 1-0 win over Everton recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Enzo Maresca will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first XI for this contest. Reece James, Levi Colwill and Romeo Lavia could get a chance to play from the start of this game.

Defence

Filip Jörgensen will feature in between the sticks for the Blues as he looks to keep a clean sheet on the road this week. Levi Colwill will resume his partnership with Tosin Adarabioyo at the centre of the Chelsea defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the game.

Reece James could get the nod to start as the right-back while Marc Cucurella hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Djurgarden half.

Benoit Badiashile will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Romeo Lavia will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on making life difficult for the home team at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Jadon Sancho, Enzo Fernandez and Noni Madueke will play just ahead of them as part of Maresca’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to engineer enough clear-cut chances to win this game.

Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.

Attack

Nicolas Jackson will lead the charge for the West London club up top. He has to find a way to be a threat in front of the opponent’s goal this Thursday night.

Christopher Nkunku will have to be content with a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
