Liverpool owner John W. Henry’s wife posts cryptic message on Trent Alexander-Arnold future

Linda Pizzuti Henry, wife of Liverpool’s principal owner, John W Henry, has caused a social media stir with her post following the Reds’ Premier League title win on Sunday. It has even led some fans to think she is hinting that Trent Alexander-Arnold could remain at Liverpool beyond the summer.

Pizzuti Henry was front and center of the celebrations at Anfield at the weekend. She was actually seen serving refreshments at the ground ahead of the game, was among those to head pitchside after the match and posted a behind-the-scenes video for social media.

A separate post on Monday has got tongues wagging though, with Pizzuti Henry uploading several photos from the match. “Pitch celebration on winning the Premier League with supporters, at Anfield,” she wrote on Instagram. “A magical moment of connection, community, hopes, and pure joy. After more than 14 years with the club, this was truly a dream come true. Thank you, Liverpool.”

One fan commented on the post and pointed to the fact that the only players featuring in the collage were Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the three whose futures have dominated so much of this season.

The latter, of course, has not signed an extension unlike Van Dijk and Salah, with a growing expectation that he will instead move to Real Madrid on a free transfer. Fans were analyzing his every action on Sunday, with the Liverpool right-back reluctant to accept the individual acclaim from The Kop End after the match.

Supporters are still hopeful an agreement can be reached, and Pizzuti Henry may have raised that expectation. In response to the comment about the three players who featured in her Instagram post, she replied with the two eyes emoji, implying fans should keep watching the situation.

It comes after a lip reading expert Nicola Hickling has alleged that Henry told Alexander-Arnold to “do the right thing” after Sunday’s game. “You’ve been quiet. How did you get on?” the Liverpool owner supposedly said. “Being sensible,” Alexander-Arnold replied.

John W. Henry’s wife appeared to hint at a new contract for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Henry then raised his hand and it’s claimed he responded: “I want you to do the right thing.” It’s then suggested that Alexander-Arnold said: “Should I decide?” before Henry nodded and replied: “Absolutely.”

If true, it suggests that the player’s future is not so cut and dry, something Pizzuti Henry’s social media comment certainly suggests.

The Liverpool right-back certainly enjoyed the festivities on Sunday, dancing in front of The Kop, banging his chest when his chant rang around Anfield and filming himself dancing with teammates inside the dressing room. That it was decided he would not conduct any post-match interviews is a less encouraging sign, however.

Either way, it’s a story that is expected to rumble on over the coming weeks until confirmation emerges.
