Tottenham Hotspur could soon be in the market for a new manager.

Ange Postecoglou is likely to be sacked at the end of the season, and Tottenham’s 5-1 loss at the weekend showed exactly why time is almost up for the Australian.

Indeed, Tottenham have been terrible this season, and they’re looking for a new manager ahead of the summer.

Andoni Iraola is Tottenham’s top target, but other managers have been linked.

Nico Kovac has been admired by Tottenham, while Scott Parker has been linked to Spurs too.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Scott Parker has been discussing his future, and he was outright asked if he would be staying at Burnley next season.

Scott Parker responds to question about his future

Parker was asked if he still sees himself at Burnley next season.

As you can imagine, the gaffer was coy about his future, refusing to 100% commit to the Clarets, but he did say his full focus is on Burnley at the moment.

Gary Neville has called Parker a ‘special’ manager in the past, and Spurs are keen to bring him back to north London.

“Do you see yourself still at Burnley next season, giving it your best shot?” Parker was asked.

“Full focus is on Burnley. I’ve been here for a year, I adore this team, adore these lads, full focus is on this side, getting to the end of this season and hopefully getting another win and hopefully getting to 100 points. That’s where my focus is and that’s where it will be,” Parker said.

What Scott Parker said before leaving Fulham

Parker says that his full focus is on Burnley, and it would be fair to suggest that Parker is planning on staying at Turf Moor after these comments.

However, we have seen this before from Parker.

Indeed, back in 2021, Parker was relegated with Fulham, and after the fact, he said he was committed to getting the Whites back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

“Are you going to see this job through and make sure this club does bounce back again at the first attempt?” Parker was asked.

“Yeah, you know I’ve been committed since I came here, that has always been the case. What’s key for me and important for me is to sit down, analyse, learn and be brave enough to realise where we’ve gone wrong. It’s key to break the cycle and work out exactly what we need to improve as a football club,” Parker said.

“I’ll be the first to put my point across to bring this club back into this league and stay there. That’s my main aim, I don’t want to be here for a season and get relegated, that will be key.”

That commitment didn’t last very long as Parker left Fulham for Bournemouth in the summer.

Marco Silva would replace Parker, and, ultimately, Parker’s words of commitment didn’t mean anything.

Ironically, Silva has been linked to Tottenham too, and given Parker’s history of jumping ship despite committing to a club, you can’t rule out the Burnley boss heading to Spurs this summer.
