Tottenham Hotspur haven’t had the best of seasons this year, it has to be said.
Spurs have struggled for most of the campaign and there’s a good chance they’ll finish in the Premier League’s bottom five.
Admittedly, Tottenham are still firmly in the Europa League picture, but there’s no doubt that there’s a lot of work to do over the coming months.
However, there have certainly been positives this season, the latest of which has come in the form of an announcement which Spurs fans are buzzing over.
Tottenham fans buzzing as Lucas Bergvall signs new contract
On Tuesday evening, Tottenham announced that Lucas Bergvall has signed a new contract with Spurs.
The club revealed that Bergvall has put pen to paper on a deal set to run until the summer of 2031.
Needless to say, Tottenham fans are thrilled with the news.
“Massive news with Bergvall’s contract,” one fan wrote on X. “That boy is going straight to the top. Finally something positive.”
Another said: “Fantastic to see that Bergvall has put pen to paper and signed a new contract, that runs until 2031.
“What a season he’s had, his future is bright. Really good news this, such an important player this season.”
The praise kept coming, with one supporter saying: “Brief bit of good news this season with Bergvall signing an extended contract.
“Kid’s gonna be a star once a proper coach gets his hands on him.”
Another fan said: “Bright news for us in terms of Bergvall signing long term, it’s going to cost a club big money for us to sell considering the height of his ceiling.”
Another fan wrote: “Now this is very very VERY good news. Bergvall has most certainly deserved & earned it. Finally some great news for Spurs.”

What Glenn Hoddle has noticed about Lucas Bergvall that is especially exciting
Bergvall had a tricky start to life at Tottenham, but he now looks well suited to life in English football in wake of his remarkably quick development.
Glenn Hoddle recently noted how Bergvall has shown considerable improvement in less than one full season.
The Tottenham legend said young players can often take two seasons before really getting up to speed.
Hoddle then backed Bergvall to be absolutely “frightening” as a player when he gets closer to his prime of around 23 or 24 years of age.
“For me the most important thing is he’s been thrown in, he’s had to be thrown in in half the games, but mentality-wise, he’s more than coped with it,” Hoddle said on TNT Sports.
“And it’s just going to grow and grow. When he’s 24, what’s he going to be like?
“He’s learnt so quickly. Some people take two seasons to grow and they progress and they improve.
“He’s improved in such a quick time. So what he’s going to be like when he’s 23, 24… he’s going to be frightening.”
