Manchester United have confirmed their 26-man squad that will travel to Bilbao for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Athletic Bilbao, with Matthijs de Ligt and Amad Diallo both included.
De Ligt and Amad returned to training on Wednesday morning after spells on the sidelines, and the key duo have been selected in the squad for the European fixture at San Mames.
It is a larger group than normal, including Chido Obi and Sekou Kone, with the pair set to be involved in a training session on Friday morning, although they are ineligible for the fixture on Thursday night.
Altay Bayindir has overcome an injury issue to make the squad, but he is expected to be on the bench, with Andre Onana set to be given the nod between the sticks against Athletic despite his recent difficulties.
Five players absent for Man United against Athletic
Man United remain without the services of Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee, with the pair absent for the remainder of the season, while Diogo Dalot is currently on the sidelines with a thigh problem.
Ayden Heaven has not overcome a foot injury, so the ex-Arsenal defender is absent, while Toby Collyer is still dealing with a muscular problem, with the midfielder also out of the European contest.
Youngsters Tyler Fredricson, Bendito Mantato and Jaydan Kamason are included and are options on Thursday, while Jonny Evans is fit after a recent problem, with the experienced defender back in the fold.
