Arsenal, Liverpool ‘learn’ Bryan Mbuemo asking price ahead of summer transfer window

Brentford are reportedly set to demand over £60m for Arsenal and Liverpool target Bryan Mbuemo this summer.

The Cameroon international has been linked with a switch away from the Gtech Community Stadium, where he has enjoyed a marvellous campaign for the Bees.

Mbuemo has found the net on 18 occasions and provided six assists for Thomas Frank‘s troops, helping them move towards a midtable finish this term.

One of the 25-year-old’s brightest performances of the term arrived on April 19, when he provided three goal contributions during the 4-2 battering of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Since making the low-profile move from Troyes to Championship Brentford in August 2019, Mbuemo has played 237 competitive games, making the net ripple 68 times.

Arsenal, Liverpool learn of Mbuemo asking price?

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal and Liverpool have learnt of a new asking price for Brentford and Cameroon star Mbuemo ahead of the summer window.

The report claims that the West London Bees are preparing to demand at least £60m for the services of the 25-year-old before the start of the 2025-26 season.

It is currently unclear whether the Gunners or the Reds are willing to pay that amount this summer, or wait until Mbuemo’s contract at Brentford is running short, with Newcastle United and Chelsea also interested.

Arne Slot and Liverpool view the Bees attacker as a long-term replacement for Anfield legend Mohamed Salah, who recently signed a two-year extension.

The Egyptian king has won two Premier League trophies and one Champions League crown since joining from Italian outfit Roma during the summer of 2017.

Mbuemo has bags of potential

At the age of 25, Mbuemo has the potential to blossom into a world-class star at Anfield, possibly filling the shoes of club icon Salah.

Eighteen league goals for a midtable Brentford side is nothing to be sniffed at, with the attacker showing signs of being too good to stay with the Bees.

Mbuemo could reach the 20-goal mark in the Premier League as Frank’s side visit Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest on Thursday night.
