What a season for the Frauen!
The Bayern Munich Frauen clinched the DFB-Pokal with a dominant 4-2 effort against Werder Bremen in Cologne.
Powered by a hat trick from Lea Schüller and a tally from Carolin Simon, Bayern Munich never wavered with its relentless attack. Werder Bremen did cut into a 2-0 lead for Bayern Munich late in the first half with a goal from Rieke Dieckmann, but that was as close as the game would get.
Bayern Munich was just that good.
Klara Bühl and Tuva Hansen had assists, while Ena Mahmutovic picked up win as the goalkeeper. Werder Bremen did put forth a spirited effort, but Bayern Munich was overwhelming for large stretches of the game.
Alexander Straus will finalize his duties with Bayern Munich before moving to Angel City in the NWSL. After receiving criticism for lack of attendance earlier in the competition, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer and board member for sport Max Eberl attended the match.
