Barcelona will face off against Real Valladolid at the Estadio José Zorrilla this Saturday night as they look to secure a win on the road in La Liga. The Catalan outfit were held to a 3-3 draw by Inter Milan recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways this weekend.

Hansi Flick will stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Gavi, Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia could all get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.

Defence

Marc-Andre ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan club as he looks to keep a clean sheet away from home. Pau Cubarsi will operate alongside Ronald Araujo at the centre of the Barca backline as they look to keep things solid on the defensive third of the pitch.

Eric Garcia will fill in as the right-back while Gerard Martin hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Andreas Christensen will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.

Midfield

Gavi and Pedri will anchor the midfield for Barcelona as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Ansu Fati, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal could play just ahead of them as part of Flick’s attack. All three of them need to combine well in the opposition half if the Catalan giants are to earn a convincing win this weekend.

Frenkie de Jong and Dani Olmo will make up the numbers on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Ferran Torres will lead the charge for the Catalan club up top. He has to figure out a way to be a constant menace inside the Valladolid penalty area.

However, this game will come too soon for Robert Lewandowski who is still recovering from his injury.
