Arsenal are going to be in the market for a new striker this summer.
Indeed, Kai Havertz’s injury has further exposed Arsenal’s lack of depth up front, and Arsenal will sign a new striker this summer to put things right.
Mikel Arteta has his eye on a number of exciting signings this summer.
Alexander Isak has been strongly linked to Arsenal, while Viktor Gyokeres is on Arsenal’s radar too.
Speaking to Al Arabiya News, Harry Redknapp has been discussing Harry Kane’s potential return to the Premier League, and Redknapp says that Kane would be perfect for Arsenal, despite his links to Tottenham.
Harry Redknapp says Harry Kane would be perfect for Arsenal
Redknapp spoke about Kane and a potential return to England.
Kane has a release clause that comes into effect at some point, and Kane joining Arsenal has been discussed before.
According to Redknapp, this is a move that would be ideal for Arsenal.
“Harry Kane, would you like to see him return to the Premier League?” The host asked.
“Yeah, of course, I still think he’s the best centre-forward around, another great professional, a great person, not a problem, he’s a family man, yeah, great,” Redknapp said.
“Arsenal need a striker, is there any chance?” The host said.
“Oh my god, he’d be the one for sure,” Redknapp said.
Star players who signed for rival clubs
Kane joining Arsenal would be a remarkable turn of events, but, as ever, stranger things have happened in football.
Indeed, over the years, we have seen a number of high-profile switches where a player has joined a club that once seemed unthinkable.
Tottenham and Arsenal know this better than anyone having been at the centre of the Sol Campbell fiasco back in 2001, but there have been other examples throughout history.
Star players who signed for rival clubs | Club left | Club joined |
Luis Figo | Barcelona | Real Madrid |
Sol Campbell | Tottenham | Arsenal |
Alan Smith | Leeds | Man Utd |
Ashley Cole | Arsenal | Chelsea |
Robin van Persie | Arseal | Man Utd |
Carlos Tevez | Man Utd | Man City |
Johan Cruyff | Ajax | Feyenoord |
Kane to Arsenal would perhaps be the most shocking of all of these transfers, but you can never rule out anything in football when the right money and the right project is involved.
Kane would love to win a Premier League title, and a move to Arsenal would perhaps give him the best chance of doing that.
