Arsenal have made a habit of pinching players from some of their biggest rivals in recent years.
Indeed, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko were taken from Manchester City a few years ago, while Raheem Sterling was taken from Chelsea in the summer.
Zinchenko was seen as a coup for Arsenal alongside Jesus, and signing players from other top clubs seems to be a tactic that works.
Arsenal have a big summer transfer window ahead of them, and signings from within the Premier League could again be on the agenda.
Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target, while Ollie Watkins has been linked to Arsenal too.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta is said to be an admirer of another Premier League star.
Mikel Arteta is a long-term admirer of Marcus Rashford
According to The Mirror, Mikel Arteta is a long-term admirer of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Arsenal were linked with Rashford in January, and according to this report, the Arsenal boss is indeed a fan of the United loanee.
Rashford is currently shining at Aston Villa, who hold a £40m option to buy the forward, but he’s keen to join a Champions League club this summer.
According to The Mirror, this move isn’t all that likely to happen though, which is logical seeing as Nico Williams is supposedly set to join Arsenal and he would play a very similar role to Rashford down the left.
Marcus Rashford record vs Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal
Arteta is a long-term admirer of Rashford, and it’s not necessarily difficult to see why.
Rashford always had a knack of scoring against Manchester City back when Mikel Arteta was Assistant manager at the Etihad, and he’s continued to have a decent record against Arsenal over the years.

Rashford does often turn up against the Gunners, and Arteta has often seen first hand what the attacker is capable of when he’s fit and firing.
It would be very interesting to see Rashford under Arteta, but, sadly, it doesn’t seem as though a move is likely to happen this summer.
However, as we saw last summer with Raheem Sterling, Arsenal love a late move for an out-of-favour winger, so keep this one in the back of your mind if Rashford’s future isn’t resolved come the end of the summer window.
