Tottenham Hotspur did what they had to do against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou’s side haven’t had the greatest season, but when he needed his players to step up in their biggest game of the campaign, they did.
Brennan Johnson opened the scoring in the very first minute of the game, and James Maddison doubled their lead later in the first half. Dominic Solanke added a third to give Spurs a 3-1 advantage going into the second leg.
Multiple Tottenham players delivered on Thursday night, and one of them has been receiving a lot of love from some of his teammates.
Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven praise Pedro Porro
Pedro Porro has been at Tottenham for over two years now.
The Spaniard came under a lot of criticism in his first few months at the club, but he has produced some excellent performances under Postecoglou.
Porro directly contributed to 12 goals from right-back last season, and he equalled that tally on Thursday night with a brilliant assist.
The 25-year-old found James Maddison with a long ball from his own half, and the Englishman brought it down well and found the net.
After the game, when Porro took to Instagram to celebrate the win, the Spain international received love from some of his teammates.
Micky van de Ven wrote “Top Pedrito”, while Destiny Udogie said: “What a player, brother!”
Pedro Porro could be sold by Tottenham in 2025
Tottenham signed Porro initially on loan with an obligation-to-buy clause in the deal for £39 million (Sky Sports). That was triggered in the summer of 2023.
The Spaniard has had his ups and downs, but when he has the ball at his feet and is going forward, he is a big threat.
But, TBR Football revealed in April that Daniel Levy is ready to sell Porro if he gets over £50 million for him this summer.
Djed Spence has shown that he has what it takes to perform at the highest level in Porro’s position, so if a good-enough offer arrives for the Spaniard, it won’t be a bad idea to let him go.
