The North Londoners were always the favourites going into the game against the Norwegians, and they got the job done at home.

Goals from Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke sealed a 3-1 win, and Tottenham now have a big advantage going into the second leg.

There was a lot to be happy about for Spurs fans on Thursday night, but one incident left Jamie O’Hara really angry.

What Cristian Romero did during Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt that made Jamie O’Hara furious

Tottenham star Cristian Romero has been in the news a lot over the last few months.

The Argentina international, who was signed permanently by Tottenham in a £42.5 million deal in 2022 (Daily Mail), has produced plenty of brilliant moments in a Spurs shirt.

On his day, Romero is one of the best in the country, but the defender’s discipline has always been a serious cause for concern.

Against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night, Romero was having a fine game for Tottenham. He was solid at the back, won a penalty in the opposite end and was closing in on a flawless display.

But, in the 73rd minute, Romero needlessly shoved Jostein Gundersen in an off-the-ball incident. He knew exactly what he was doing, and there was absolutely no reason for him to do that.

The referee showed the Tottenham vice-captain a yellow card, and O’Hara was furious.

“What is Romero doing like seriously why do that,” tweeted O’Hara along with an angry emoji.

Will Cristian Romero be banned for the final if he gets another yellow card in the second leg?

Romero’s discipline is a serious concern and has been for years now.

The Argentine has the ability to produce solid displays at the back, but for one reason or another, he often finds the need to do something crazy.

That has led to red cards and suspensions in the past, and the last thing Ange Postecoglou needs is for him to miss the final if they get there.

Romero has received yellow cards in each of his last two games in the Europa League. Fans are wondering if another booking will lead to a suspension, but they can breathe a sigh of relief.

Yellow cards were wiped out after the quarter-finals, and even if a player gets booked in both legs of the semi-finals, it will have no impact on their availability for the final.

But, if Romero loses his head and gets a red card in the second leg, he will be suspended for the final in Bilbao.
