Newcastle United could be set for a big summer transfer window.
Indeed, Eddie Howe has now openly said the tables have turned in terms of PSR restrictions, and this could be a summer of spending from the Magpies.
Newcastle have been linked with some exciting signings already heading into the summer.
Antoine Semenyo has been linked to Newcastle, while Alexis Saelemaekers is on Newcastle’s radar too.
Bryan Mbeumo has also been linked to Newcastle, and now, speaking to Pro Direct Soccer, the Brentford attacker has made an interesting claim about playing at St James’ Park.

Bryan Mbeumo loves playing at St James’ Park
The Brentford winger was asked to name his favourite stadium to play at.
Usually, players are quick to name their home stadium as their favourite, but according to Mbeumo, his favourite stadiums are Goodison Park and St James’ Park.
Mbeumo has been linked to Newcastle, so he could be playing at St James’ Park on a weekly basis next year.
The Brentford ace has been valued at £70m recently ahead of a potential summer move.
“What’s your favourite stadium to play at?” Mbeumo was asked.
“Oh, I really like Everton and Newcastle as well,” Mbeumo said.
“The toughest away stadium to play at?” The winger was asked.
“Probably one of those,” Mbeumo said.
Bryan Mbeumo’s record at St James’ Park
Mbeumo says he loves playing at St James’ Park, but he really hasn’t had a great time on Tyneside over the years.
Indeed, while Mbeumo may enjoy soaking in the atmosphere at Newcastle, he’s got a terrible record away at Newcastle over the years.
Bryan Mbeumo record at St James’ Park | |
Games | 4 |
Wins | 0 |
Draws | 1 |
Losses | 3 |
Goals | 1 |
Mbeumo has never won a single game at St James’ Park, and he only has one goal in four matches at Newcastle’s stadium in his career.
Mbeumo also names St James’ as one of the toughest grounds he’s ever played at, and it’s easy to see why.
Other Premier League clubs are also keen on Mbeumo, but, by the sounds of it, he may have reason to want to join Newcastle in this summer transfer window.
