Liverpool have beaten Arsenal to the Premier League title.
The two sides were going head-to-head for the crown at the turn of the year, but Mikel Arteta’s men could not keep pace with the Merseyside giants.
It looks like Arsenal will finish second for the third consecutive season, which must be painful for everyone at the club, including Arteta.
However, there are several positives to take for Arsenal, like the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly this season.
But, Theo Walcott thinks one Liverpool target has been even better than the Arsenal number 49.
Theo Walcott says Liverpool target Milos Kerkez has been better than Myles Lewis-Skelly
Liverpool are expected to be active in the summer transfer window.
The Reds know that they will have to be even better next season to retain their Premier League crown, and to do that, they will need reinforcements.
Arne Slot will look to bring in new signings in several positions this summer – a new left-back is definitely one of them.
TBR Football revealed all the way back in October that Liverpool were tracking Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth.
The Reds’ interest has become serious in recent months, and reports have claimed that Kerkez wants to join Liverpool as well.
Now, in a statement that will excite Reds fans, Walcott has named Kerkez as the fourth best player in the Premier League this season – one place ahead of Arsenal wonderkid Lewis-Skelly.
“Fourth, I’m going to go for Kerkez,” Walcott told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
“Another left-back who has got bags and bags of energy. A player I probably wouldn’t have liked to play against because it’s one of those where he’s going to make me go the other way. But, he’d be worried about me as well.”
Liverpool have two other options if they can’t sign Milos Kerkez
Milos Kerkez is high up on Liverpool’s list this summer, but he isn’t their only option.
The Reds have decided to keep Andy Robertson for another season, while Kostas Tsimikas will be made available for a transfer.
The top target is the ‘superb‘ Kerkez, but TBR Football revealed in April that some people inside Liverpool prefer Antonee Robinson of Fulham.
Another left-back Liverpool are targeting is Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves, who has been on the Reds’ radar since Jurgen Klopp was at the club.
All three are great options, and it will be interesting to see who Slot will go for.
