Just a year after signing for Arsenal, defender Riccardo Califiori is being linked with a return to Serie A.
His time in England has been punctuated by a series of injuries, with suggestions that he has found the physical demands of the Premier League too much – although his latest problem was picked up whilst on international duty with Italy.
Whilst he remains a favourite with the fans, coaches have become increasingly frustrated with his struggles to remain fit for any length of time.
Although a centre-half by trade, he has found himself primarily deployed as a left-back since his time at the Emirates, and the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly has limited his game time even further, with the teenager now first choice under Mikel Arteta.
Clubs in Italy are aware of his situation, and now AC Milan are interested in buying him, although the Gunners want at least ₤30 million.
