‘Outstanding’ Chelsea player would be open to signing for Manchester United this summer – journalist

Manchester United have a number of exciting transfer targets in mind this summer.

Matheus Cunha has been linked to Manchester United, while United are also keen on Liam Delap.

Interestingly, Manchester United are also keen on another of the Premier League’s biggest stars.

Indeed, it was reported last week that Manchester United are keen on Cole Palmer, albeit a move isn’t likely to happen.

Now, speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast, Miguel Delaney has been discussing Cole Palmer’s situation, and he’s made an interesting claim about Manchester United.

According to Delaney, Palmer would be open to a move to Manchester United, but, again, the journalist re-iterated just how unlikely this move is this summer.

Cole Palmer would be open to Manchester United move

Delaney shared what he knows about Palmer and Manchester United’s interest in the Chelsea star.

According to the journalist, United would seriously go for Palmer if there was a chance for a move to happen, while Palmer himself would be open to a move.

However, there’s no chance this move will happen this summer after Palmer signed a long-term deal with Chelsea earlier this season.

“So many clubs would want Cole Palmer and Manchester United are one who would, if there was any sort of possibility, they’d seriously go for him. And I think he would be open to it, but really, there’s no possibility to happen this summer.”

Chelsea players to sign for Manchester United

Chelsea and Manchester United are two of the biggest clubs in English football, but, interestingly, they haven’t done all that much business over the years.

Indeed, in the Premier League era, only three players have made the move from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford, and they haven’t all been that successful.

Manchester United signings from Chelsea
Juan Mata
Nemanja Matic
Mason Mount

Juan Mata was an incredibly talented player, but he never hit the heights expected of him at United, especially compared to what he achieved at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, it was a similar story for Nemanja Matic too.

Mason Mount has had a terrible time at United due to his injuries, and Paul Scholes would already sell Mount at this point after a torrid spell in Manchester.

Palmer is an ‘outstanding’ player, but perhaps United should tread carefully when looking to make any further signings from Chelsea.
