The journalist says Trafford has been identified by Newcastle as a potential signing, and the player himself is keen on the move.
“James Trafford is one I think Newcastle will absolutely try to do. Now, Burnley’s promotion, in terms of affecting Trafford’s asking price, let’s wait and see on that,” Hope said.
“Newcastle do want a new goalkeeper, that’s been for a while now to bring in a ball-player who can act as that fifth defender. Nick Pope has been a fantastic signing, but nonetheless I know James Trafford is a player they have identified, it very nearly happened this summer, the player is really keen on it.”
