Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed that he is set to be backed by The Friedkin Group in the summer transfer window.
The Friedkin Group completed their majority takeover of the Toffees in December last year and one of the first major changes they made at the club was to replace Sean Dyche with Moyes in the dugout.
Moyes initially made a hugely positive impact back at Goodison Park and has successfully steered the club away from the relegation picture, with his Everton side currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table and 17 points clear of the bottom three.
However, Everton’s campaign has begun to peter out as Moyes has celebrated just one win in his last 10 top-flight matches (D6 L3), most recently throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with already-relegated Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Despite scoring two goals last time out, Everton have largely struggled in the attacking department this term, with only the three relegated teams having netted fewer goals than the Toffees (36) after 35 PL matches.
Moyes: “We’re expecting the Friedkin’s to come up with some money”
Ahead of an exciting summer and their long-awaited move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, Moyes has confirmed that there will be money to spend on new signings.
Asked by club legend and former striker Duncan Ferguson on BBC Sport about the club’s financial position regarding new signings following the recent takeover, Moyes said: “The Friedkin’s have said there’ll be money to spend.
“Sometimes you hate to think that the football’s all about money. You’d hope that football is still about can we build a good team, can we get a good group of players together, a good team spirit that might have a way of getting results.
“But it sounds as if money seems to be the thing that everyone wants to know. The answer to your question Dunc is yes, we’re expecting the Friedkin’s to come up with some money and hopefully we can add to the squad.”
Reinforcements in attack are expected to be a priority for Everton this summer and GiveMeSport claims that they are contemplating a deal to re-sign Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian scored 53 goals in 152 games during three successful seasons as a Toffees player before completing a £60m transfer to Spurs in July 2022 where he has largely struggled with injuries and gaining regular game time.
Richarlison has been reduced to 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Ange Postecoglou‘s side, chipping in with five goals and two assists, and he still has two years remaining on his contract in North London.
Nevertheless, Everton are said to view the 27-year-old as a ‘dream’ target and a summer switch to the blue side of Merseyside is ‘feasible’ for a fee less than £40m.
The Toffees are also said to be monitoring other strikers across Europe including Monaco’s Mika Biereth, Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Evan Ferguson – currently on loan at West Ham United – and Fiorentina‘s on-loan Genoa frontman Albert Gudmundsson.
A move for Ipswich striker Liam Delap has also been mooted, but it is thought that both Manchester United and Chelsea are ahead of Everton in the race for his signature.
The addition of a new centre-forward at Everton could raise concerns over the long-term future of injury-prone Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has struggled for form throughout this season when fit.
