Matheus Cunha might not be the only attacking addition that Manchester United make to their front line this summer.
Man United once again struggled to replicate their European form in the Premier League against Brentford, slumping to their sixth league defeat in a row.
The result and performance was further evidence that United need a serious clearout of their squad this summer in order to sufficiently back Ruben Amorim.
Although United earned a brilliant result against Athletic Bilbao last week, the Premier League table is always a better representative of where your project is at — and it’s not good reading for Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
And whilst United are pushing to sign Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, he might not be the only high-profile attacking addition the Red Devils target.
Man Unied want to sign Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo
According to The Telegraph, United are now interested in Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford, who had a strong hand in Amorim’s side losing 4-3 on Sunday.
Mbeumo has a price tag of around £60m according to the report and United’s interest is separate to Cunha — they’d be willing to buy both.

Of course, Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted Mbeumo could leave this summer if the right bid came in, a club who will sell their key players when they feel the time is right.
Speaking a few months ago, Thierry Henry was convinced Mbeumo would leave Brentford this summer and all indicators are now pointing towards that exit.
Interestingly, neither Cunha or Mbeumo are seen as natural number nines and perhaps both would be envisioned to play off a central striker, maybe Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund might leave United this summer himself — it’s guaranteed to be a busy one at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim still needs a new striker
Interestingly United are still interested in Victor Osimhen at Napoli, a striker the Italian side are keen to sell this summer.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray but his contract with Napoli is beginning to wind down.
And if Osimhen isn’t seen as the ideal candidate at Old Trafford then Jean-Philippe Mateta is keen to join United himself if he doesn’t sign new terms with Crystal Palace.
It promises to be a summer of change for Amorim’s side, one that is well needed.
And if United are able to secure Champions League football for next season then their whole rebuild will be so much easier, revenue that will seriously help any PSR concerns moving forward.
