Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United are just three of the clubs linked with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window.
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently claimed that Arsenal have looked at Mbeumo, while Newcastle are “the favourites at this point”.
It has also been reported that Manchester United are keen on Mbeumo after he helped Brentford run out 4-3 winners over Ruben Amorim’s side at the weekend.
Now, Christian Norgaard has made a big claim about Mbeumo that will be music to the ears of Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United.
Christian Norgaard feels Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo is ‘likely to go’
Norgaard is aware that Brentford boast a number of players who are highly sought after by Premier League rivals.
And on the subject of Mbeumo, the Bees captain claimed that the £50million-rated forward is “likely to go” this summer.
Norgaard also spoke about Yoane Wissa, who Nottingham Forest bid for in January, and there have also been links with Arsenal and Tottenham.
“I think Bryan is likely to go,” Norgaard told Sky Sports. “I don’t know about Wissa yet. Everyone hopes that he might stay.
“Either way, I’m happy for the season and am happy for both of them. They deserve it so much.”
Norgaard is calm about the situation, as Brentford have a great track record in replacing key players.
“I’m pretty calm about what will happen with Bryan and Wissa,” said Norgaard.
“A lot of questions are asked about them and you can almost feel the worries around the players, when you talk about them maybe leaving us.
“I was one [of them] when we were losing Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma, Ivan Toney. So it continues.
“But the club has already brought in Igor Thiago, who is another fantastic character and he will also take the league by storm at some point.
“When that is, I don’t know but I’m sure he will be ready if Wissa gets his dream move, or Bryan leaves and there will be a change of the offensive players.
“I think the club is so talented in recruiting and always being two or three steps ahead.”
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has also hinted that Mbeumo could move this summer.
The Mohamed Salah-like qualities Bryan Mbeumo could bring to Arsenal, Newcastle or Manchester United
Mbeumo has made a real name for himself at Brentford since joining from Troyes back in 2019.
He has 18 goals and eight assists to his name for Brentford this season, while his overall record for the Bees reads 239 goals, 68 goals and 50 assists.
Mbeumo’s key strengths include an eye for goal, great reading of the game, and being superb at finding space and maintaining possession.
Previously, Stan Collymore said Mbeumo was his “favourite player in the Premier League” and suggested he would’ve been a good replacement for Mohamed Salah if he left Liverpool.
“Interestingly, it’s actually one of Toney’s Brentford teammates that I think top sides should be taking a closer look at,” he said last year. “Bryan Mbeumo – I love him!
“It may surprise some of you but Mbeumo is my favourite player in the Premier League. I think he’s quality.
“Whenever I watch him, he gets the ball close to his feet, he’s very direct.
“He makes excellent runs in the channels, he can drop deep, he holds the ball up really well, he is very supportive of his striking partner, he gets in the box and poaches goals, he’s physically strong.
“I could go on and on. He’s a great player! If Salah does end up leaving Liverpool this summer then I certainly think Jurgen Klopp should consider Brentford’s number 19.”
