‘No ceiling’: Joe Cole has heard Arsenal have a teenager coming through with so much potential now

3 Min Read

Arsenal’s academy has produced some incredible talent in recent years.

Indeed, Bukayo Saka is now a world-class player, Myles Lewis-Skelly has been brilliant this season, while Ethan Nwaneri looks like a superstar in the making.

Frighteningly, there’s now another top talent potentially coming through at the Emirates.

Max Dowman has been tipped for big things at Arsenal, and speaking on The Dressing Room Podcast, Joe Cole has been discussing Max Dowman and what he’s been hearing about the youngster.

The pundit says he’s been told that Dowman is a player with no ceiling, noting that he has incredible potential as a player.

Joe Cole says Max Dowman has unlimited potential

Cole shared what he knows about Dowman and how he’s viewed.

Cole says he’s been told that Dowman has no ceiling, while Carlton Cole has made an interesting claim about Dowman himself after watching him recently.

“You’ve got this lad, Max Dowman, I’m hearing about,” Joe Cole said.

“Arteta gave him a mention, like Odegaard. I was talking to someone the other day, talking about him, he was saying that there’s no ceiling to this lad, he’s playing U18s, B team.

“Yeah, I’ve watched him. I’ve watched him, he’s a terrific talent, definitely,” Carlton Cole said.

Arsenal’s youngest ever players

At the age of just 15, Dowman has the potential to be a record-breaker for Arsenal.

Indeed, Dowman could become Arsenal’s youngest-ever player if he makes an appearance this season.

Arsenal’s youngest ever players Age at debut
Ethan Nwaneri 15 years 181 days
Jack Porter 16 years 72 days
Cesc Fabregas 16 years 177 days
Jack Wilshere 16 years 256 days
Jermaine Pennant 16 years 319 days

However, Dowman will not be breaking this record.

Indeed, due to the fact Dowman was registered for Arsenal’s U15s at the start of this season, he’s not able to play in the Premier League, while he’s not likely to make his debut in a Champions League semi-final vs PSG either.

Dowman may have to wait until next season to make his debut, and he may well end up being the second-youngest player to ever play for Arsenal when his opportunity comes around.

This young man looks like he could be a star in the future, that’s for sure.
