‘Really talented boy’: Dominic Solanke says Tottenham have a youngster who has a really ‘bright future’

Dominic Solanke has played with a whole host of gifted youngsters during his career and he can add Mikey Moore’s name to that long list.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker knows more than most what a young talent looks like — having been a part of Chelsea’s famed youth side, which featured wonderkids like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ola Aina and Tammy Abraham to name a few.

As a result, Solanke’s verdict on Mikey Moore is worth its weight in gold.

The 17-year-old has his fair share of admirers, with Yaya Toure lauding Moore’s talent when asked to pick the best young players from Tottenham’s academy after having spent time working in their youth ranks.

Even Declan Rice lauded Tottenham starlet Moore for being a first-team player at such a young age this campaign.

Tottenham star Dominic Solanke tips Mikey Moore for a “bright future”

Dominic Solanke was asked to give his view on Moore by Rio Ferdinand on his official YouTube channel.

Solanke was full of praise for Moore, who James Maddison likened to Neymar earlier this season.

The Englishman said: “Other than the obvious two, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall that have been playing quite a bit this season, they have huge careers ahead of them, they’ve been really good this season, someone that hasn’t played as much, Mikey Moore.”

“He’s a really talented boy, very direct and a good winger so I think he’s got a bright future as well.”

What Jermain Defoe said about Mikey Moore after working with him

Even Harry Redknapp claimed Moore should start for Tottenham as in the former Lilywhites boss’ eyes, the teenager looks like a “real player.”

While Glenn Hoddle has lauded Moore’s directness out wide as the youngster loves taking his man on, as apart from Solanke, high-profiles names within the game feel he is the real deal.

Jermain Defoe reckons Moore is “special” and his opinion certainly matters the most as he worked with him in Tottenham’s youth set-up.

Owen Hargreaves revealed in January: “Look at Mikey Moore, he’s coming on. Jermain Defoe told me about him two years ago, he said ‘Owen, this kid is special.’

“So it’s great to get him on and get some reps.”

Hargreaves concluded: “Sometimes, these young kids have no fear and play with courage when other players feel the pressure. He’s a terrific player, he’s going to be a star
