Chelsea and Arsenal are now both having doubts over signing an attacker who is believed to have already held talks with the Gunners’ sporting director Andrea Berta.
Both London clubs are looking to strengthen their forward line in the summer and have been drawn to the same target, although their interest now appears to be dwindling.
Arsenal have yet again come up short in the Premier League title race, with Mikel Arteta’s team desperately missing firepower in their attack.
Meanwhile, the Blues are also very keen on signing another forward, as Enzo Maresca hopes to bolster his attacking options for next season.
Chelsea and Arsenal have doubts about Leroy Sane
Chelsea and Arsenal are now both having doubts over signing Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane, according to SPORT1.
Sane, who Harry Kane has dubbed ‘fantastic’, is out of contract with Bayern Munich in the summer and has so far refused to sign a new contract with the German club.
The forward is playing a risky game as he appears to have angered Bayern and now, his desired destination of London looks to be less certain.
Chelsea are keen to continue recruiting younger players, meanwhile, Arteta is considered to be sceptical about signing his former Man City colleague.
Sane has previously spoken highly of Arteta, with the duo having worked together during their time at Manchester City.
However, a return move to the Premier League appears to be a major doubt and his agent, Pini Zahavi, now has plenty of work to do in order to convince both clubs.
Would Leory Sane still be a good option for Chelsea or Arsenal?
Sane, who Bayern signed for £55m, has enjoyed a productive season in Germany having produced 18 goal contributions.
Competition | Apps | Goals | Assists |

Champions League | 13 | 1 | 0 |

The 29-year-old has played a key role in helping the Bavarians return to being champions of Germany, which they secured after Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 2-2 draw.
Arsenal and Chelsea should certainly still be considering him if he were to become a free agent, given his form this season and the experience he would bring.
