Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool haven’t been too entwined in the transfer market in recent years.
Liverpool signed Diogo Jota from Wolves in 2020 with Ki-Jana Hoever heading the other way, but otherwise the clubs have seldom done business.
But it promises to be a busy summer for both clubs in a few months time, two sides who have reason for optimism under their new managers.
FSG will have plans to back Arne Slot in the transfer market and there should be considerable funds for Richard Huges to spend at Liverpool.
And in terms of Wolves’ own plans, they will need to find a replacement for Manchester United target Matheus Cunha who seems destined to leave the club.
Wolves want to sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Cunha has been brilliant for Wolves this season scoring 15 goals in 30 Premier League matches, form that is also interesting the likes of Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
But in terms of how Wolves will replace Cunha, Give Me Sport are now reporting that Vitor Pereira’s side could target a move for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott.

Elliott has impressed at times under Slot this season but he is a player who appears to be on the periphery of the Dutchman’s plans.
Elliott could leave Liverpool in one of several Anfield exits as Slot shapes his squad for his future plans.
Wolves see Elliott as someone who could come in play as a number 10 in a similar vein to Cunha, who is often misprofiled as a striker.
Liverpool have explored using Elliott as a right-winger at times to deputise for Mohamed Salah but he’s undoubtedly better in a central role.
And if Wolves were able to sign the England U21 international, it would be something of a coup.
Harvey Elliott is struggling under Arne Slot
Slot actually gave Elliott a chance to start against Chelsea last weekend, an opportunity to impress that he didn’t necessarily take.
Slot might need to sell Elliott this summer and therefore Wolves’ interest could be perfect for Liverpool.
Fulham are interested in Elliott themselves, the midfielder’s old club, and there will no doubt be a lot of competition for the 22-year-old’s signature should he be made available.
Liverpool aren’t getting the best out of the midfielder right now, even if Ryan Gravenberch called Elliott ‘quality’ earlier this season.
An exceptional young talent, and one who is ready to be a maverick for a Europe-chasing side.
