Two familiar names from the DFB chimed in on Bayern Munich’s domestic title.

Bayern Munich officially secured the Bundesliga title after Bayer Leverkusen failed to get all three points on Sunday’s match. Of course, anyone with common sense can see that Bayern Munich secured the title with their point against RB Leipzig, but that is sport. The DFB bosses chimed in on Sunday to congratulate Die Roten.

“Bayern established themselves at the top of the table very early in the season and defended it until the title was won, said Völler, per the DFB as reported via @iMiaSanMia. The team has rewarded itself for its consistent performances with this title. I’m sure that our FC Bayern internationals are still hungry for another title and will give their all in June to win the Nations League with the national team in Munich.”

Völler’s comments came with a nice little nod towards the Nations League, with a little tournament promotion. It is true that Germany will be playing all their matches in the all familiar Allianz Arena if they advance past Portugal in the semi-finals. A little extra incentive to win in front of the home fans perhaps?

None other than Julian Nagelsmann, former Bayern Munich coach, also congratulated the Bavarians on a historic title win. “Congratulations to FC Bayern on winning the Bundesliga title, and especially to Vincent Kompany on his first title as a coach in Germany, per the DFB as reported via @iMiaSanMia. I’m very happy for all our German internationals, but this year especially for Thomas Müller, who bids farewell to FC Bayern after winning his 13th league title. He’s leaving as a legend.”

Nagelsmann will unfortunately be without Müller’s experience as Germany will once again host a European competition, when Munich and Stuttgart host the Nations League Final Four. With increasing pressure, and an increasing list of injuries, will Nags be able to deliver?
