It’s surely just a matter of time now before Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid is confirmed – and he isn’t the only Liverpool player to have been linked with a move to the Bernabeu.
The right-back has of course confirmed his decision to leave Anfield this summer after nearly 20 years at the club, dating back to his time at the academy. A transfer to the Spanish capital looks to be his next step, with Real having already approached Liverpool about signing Alexander-Arnold early in order for him to play at this summer’s Club World Cup.
The 26-year-old will be joining the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and good friend Jude Bellingham, and if some reports are to be believed, one of his current teammates could follow him.
Alexis Mac Allister has also seen his name linked with a move to the Bernabeu, owing to his impressive performances in helping Liverpool to the Premier League title, as well as winning the World Cup and Copa America with Argentina in recent years.
Links with Real began popping up as early as last year, and have grown in recent months, leading to his father being asked about the possibility of a move to Spain.
“For now, I don’t think so. Time will tell,” Mac Allister Snr said last month.

“Alexis is very happy where he is. He lives in Manchester, and on the block where he lives is (Andy) Robertson, (Joe) Gomez, and four blocks away is Licha Martinez (Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United).
“Alexis speaks English well, understands the rules of the game, and converses with people. I think it’s been the best thing he’s had, and that’s why the adaptation was easier.”
And the midfielder himself has addressed the speculation, and the good news for Liverpool fans is he doesn’t look to be entertaining the idea of a move to Madrid – for now at least.

“I read the rumors and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present,” he was quoted as telling TyC Sports. “No matter how much the club loves me, if I play poorly this weekend, they’ll lose interest.
“I’m fine at Liverpool and I don’t have any need. I have a lot of respect for the club, and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other clubs.”
Mac Allister added: “I’m a little far away, so some fans greet you with respect, but in the city, they are more passionate.
“The club is like a family. One phrase sums it all up: You’ll never walk alone. The moment the anthem is playing is incredibly powerful. One of the most beautiful. The game doesn’t start until it finishes playing.”
