Bodo/Glimt player now sends two warnings to Tottenham ahead of UEFA Europa League semi-final 2nd leg

Tottenham are within touching distance of a European final under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs just need to ensure they do not concede twice away to Bodo/Glimt on Thursday after a 3-1 win in the first leg to book their ticket to Bilbao, where a potential UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United awaits.

However, that is easier said than done.

Bodo/Glimt have won nine out of ten European fixtures at home so far this season, and made history in becoming the first Norwegian side ever to reach a European semi-final.

Ahead of the tie inside the Aspmyra Stadion, Bodo/Glimt No.11 Ole Didrik Blomberg has warned Tottenham.

Ole Didrik Blomberg shares two reasons why Tottenham are at a disadvantage

The 24-year-old has spoken to Hayters TV ahead of the second leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final, where he addressed the fact Bodo/Glimt have had more rest than Spurs, and also play on a plastic pitch.

Blomberg said: “The artificial pitch is probably going to be tough for them, for the knees and their backs, and hopefully they’ll feel a little bit old. We (also) had one week off, they had a game, so we’ll make good use of that.”

That “game” saw Tottenham draw 1-1 away to West Ham on Sunday, although Postecoglou, who could be replaced by Marco Silva, made sure to rest Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Plastic pitch could cause issues for Tottenham

Some may scoff at the notion Bodo/Glimt’s artificial pitch could trouble Spurs, but it is a genuine issue.

A number of Tottenham players struggled to recover quickly earlier this season after playing on a plastic pitch during the FA Cup third round clash at Tamworth.

Respected journalist Dan Kilpatrick recently told The Tottenham Way Podcast: “I imagine the Bodo/Glimt pitch is significantly better than Tamworth’s was (but) a lot of the Spurs players were feeling that game for days and days afterwards.”

Tottenham have already lost James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall to injuries, so it would be a nightmare if anyone else joins them in the treatment room, especially more central midfielders.
