The sporting director has a heavy burden to carry this summer.

Bayern Munich sporting chief Max Eberl is under some pressure this summer if reports are to be believed. One such report from Sport Bild outlines what it believes to be the expectations for Eberl this summer.

From Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, via @iMiaSanMia:

Max Eberl’s main tasks this summer:

• Generate funds through player sales

• Reduce the wage bill

• Strengthen the backline

• Work on the Florian Wirtz deal, which is the club’s top priority

Piece of cake, right? Can Bayern manage to pull both Florian Wirtz and strengthen the back line — without creating new holes in the team through the player sales required to do so? It seems like a tall order…but working as the FC Bayern Munich sporting director is not for the faint of heart.

Bayern needs to take care of its final contract business first, but it will be interesting to see what the summer brings.
