PSG vs. Arsenal starting lineups confirmed as 33-goal star benched in Champions League second leg

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed their starting lineups for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, and Ousmane Dembele has only been named on the bench for Les Parisiens.

The former Barcelona man picked up a minor hamstring injury in the first leg, although he had trained in the past couple of days and was declared fit for the contest by head coach Luis Enrique.

However, Dembele has not been given the green light to make the first XI, meaning that Bradley Barcola comes into the starting lineup in PSG’s only change from their 1-0 win in the first leg.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has also made just the one expected alteration to his starting XI from last week’s defeat, as Thomas Partey returns to anchor the midfield following a suspension.

With Partey in the engine room, Mikel Merino will return to the centre-forward role in place of Leandro Trossard, who drops down to the substitutes’ bench at the Parc des Princes.

Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard are both fit to start following knocks in the weekend’s 2-1 Premier League loss to Bournemouth, while Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho are among the substitutes after recovering from a knee injury and punctured lung respectively.

PSG starting XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha, Neves; Barcola, Doue, Kvaratskhelia
Subs: Safonov, Tenas, Ramos, Dembele, Lee, Hernandez, Mayulu, Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Tape, Mbaye

Arsenal starting XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
Subs: Neto, Setford, White, Calafiori, Tierney, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Henry-Francis, Nwaneri, Butler-Oyedeji, Trossard, Sterling
